Medical Administrative Assistant

The Medical Administrative Assistant course prepares students to function in many of the administrative and clerical positions in the health care industry.

This program covers important background information on medical terminology, insurance billing and coding, electronic medical records, medical ethics, customer service, and legal aspects. This program is intended to provide students with a well-rounded introduction to medical administration so a student can gain the necessary skills required to obtain a medical administrative assistant position in the health care field.  Student are eligible to take the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant exam at the successful completion of the course.

 

Training includes: 55 hours of classroom instruction, textbook, workbook, all student materials, and a one-time certification exam fee.

Financial Aid Information

 

If you are unemployed contact the Workforce Investment Board Region III to see if you are ellibilble to receive a contract for training needs.

 

 Higher Education Adult Part-time Student (HEAPS) Grant Program funds may be available for students who demonstrate financial need to continue their education on a part-time basis at the post-secondary level.
